Scientific research institute of natural gas is main branch institute of State concern “Turkmengaz”. Institute has been formed by the Order of the President of Turkmenistan from January 8th, 2016 association of a scientific part of the Institute of oil and gas of State concern “Turkmengaz” and research and development exploration institute of State corporation “Turkmengeology”.

The institute has been assigned to carry out implementations of following research and development geotechnological problems of branch:
– scientific substantiations of directions of conducting of explorations, a choice of prime objects for optimum conducting of looking up and prospecting of fields (and reservoirs) a hydrocarbon for completion of a raw-material base of branch;
– the operative analysis and scientifically-practical accompaniments of process of explorations on oil and gas;
– economic-geological evaluation process of explorations;
– perfection of engineering and technology of boring and compiling of the design estimates on building of deep wells;
– the laboratory analysis of gas, condensate, oil, reservoir water, formations (a core sample, a slime), definitions of filtration-capacitive properties and other reservoir properties, outer covers and reservoir fluid and also conducting of a gas-hydrodynamic survey of holes
– appraisal, counting and recalculation of reserves gaseous, gas condensate and gas and oil fields (and reservoirs) with their submission in Central commission and in the State commission on reserves for acceptance and the statement;
– compiling of reports under the analysis of development and designs of engineering development, industrial development and to a development gaseous and gas condensate fields (and reservoirs) being various development stages, and also submissions on them geologic and a hydrodynamic model;
– issue of offers on implementation of new innovative technologies on increase additive producing, stimulations of production, opening-up, transportation and natural gas processing and also learning of the market of natural gas;
– field supervision and scientific and technical accompaniment of industrial problems on development, extraction gaseous and gas condensate fields, and on refinement and transportation of gas;
– opening-up of branch documents on standard studies, the ecology, the new engineering, technologies, inventions and efficiency proposals;
– technical and economic analysis of production processes and designs in gaseous branch.
