"Turkmengazgeophysics" Department
For more than 75 years, the “Turkmengazgeophysics department has accumulated experience in conducting geophysical research in drilling wells to produce oil, gas and other natural resources on the territory of Turkmenistan.
The department includes the Central Body (apparatus of department), the Anev household and transport group, Logging parties for geophysical research in wells, teams for geological and technological research of the Ymam-Baba group, Production and Technological services for geophysical research in wells at the Mary and Lebap sites.The production enterprises of “Turkmengaz” State Concern, “Turkmengeologiya” State Concern, “Turkmennebit” State Concern, which carry out drilling and operational work, are the main customers of the вepartment.
Services provided by the “Turkmengazgeophysics” department are as follows:
-geophysical research on the study of the well section;
-supervision of geophysical studies of the technical condition of wells;
-carrying out drilling and blasting operations in wells and supervision of geophysical research on them;
-supervision of geophysical surveys of wells for field development;
-testing of formations using a set of tools designed for testing in wells;
-geological and technological research in wells.
All groups carrying out geophysical work are provided with KEDR and ANTARES stations, which are equipped with advanced computers. Currently, more than 80% of research in open trunks is carried out using a complex of Logis-type devices (Rialog company in Krasnodar, Russian Federation), the technical characteristics of this complex are: in standard form: 175°C and 100 MPa, in special form – 200°C and 120 MPa.The complex of geophysical studies in wells is carried out using types of these devices connected and controlled with the help of special programs at 3-5 inlets. The mining and geological conditions of the well sections where geophysical work is carried out are complicated by high temperatures (175°C), pressures and high salinity of reservoir waters. In order to study the lithological composition and volume-permeability of formations in the control intervals of promising natural resources of the well, as well as the separation of reservoir formations, assessment of their porosity and saturation, extended research complexes are conducted. Deposits of terrigenous-carbonate-sulfate rocks of the Upper Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras are the main objects of search and research of natural resources in the Turkmen part of the earth’s depths. Here, Upper Paleozoic shales, deposits of terrigenous-carbonate-sulfate rocks of the Lower Middle Jurassic period, subsalt, inter-salt and alluvial deposits of sulfate terrigenous -carbonate rocks, deposits of terrigenous – carbonate rocks of the Cretaceous period, Pliocene deposits and promising in the geological aspect Miocene deposits are the main productive strata. For testing formations or on the basis of some technical reasons, drilling and blasting operations are carried out in wells. Work on reservoir and collector tests is carried out with cable and NKT perforators manufactured in Germany, Russia, and China. They have shown themselves only on the positive side and are highly effective.
